The Qanat or Kariz was invented and developed by Iranians in the arid regions of Iran in the first millennium BC. This technology, in the form of an underground canal, brings fresh water from the foothills to the plains after a journey of several kilometers, allowing farmers and people living in these areas to survive during long periods of drought. This documentary tells the story of the emergence, glory and death of the Iranian Qanat in an abstract way.
