The documentary “Wind Girls” follows the lives of several Qashqai nomadic girls living in a summer settlement in southern Fars Province, Iran. At the heart of their story is the shared hope that the youngest girl will have the opportunity to become literate. From dawn until nightfall, the film captures their daily lives and activities, including herding sheep, caring for livestock, and weaving traditional kilims and gabbeh rugs. Wind Girls offers an intimate portrait of the work, traditions, and aspirations of Qashqai nomadic girls.
