The documentary “Spank” follows the symbolic efforts of a resident of Goudin village to save his palm trees, which are at risk of being submerged following the construction of the Kahir Dam. Through a human-centered perspective, the film explores the relationship between people, nature, and their land, turning one villager’s struggle to preserve his palm trees into a story of resilience and attachment to his homeland.
