Lost Song

The documentary “Lost Song” explores the tradition of Dashti shepherd singing and its place in Iranian music and culture, focusing on Qorban-Khan Shahi, a renowned singer and ta'zieh performer during the Qajar era. His shepherd songs were preserved on gramophone records, leaving behind a rare piece of Iran’s musical and auditory heritage. Through his life and artistic legacy, the film seeks to bring a forgotten voice from the past back to listeners and shed light on an important part of Iran’s traditional and folk music history.
