Twelfth Session: Reciting Habib bin Mazahir

A story of love, loyalty and devotion; Habib bin Mazaher's attachment to Imam Hussain (a.s.) from his childhood until his death

This assembly is the narration of Habib bin Mazaher's devotion to Imam Hussain (a.s.) since his early childhood years.

Habib, who is still only a child, has his heart attached to the love of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and talks about his love for Seyyed al-Shahada (AS) to his parents. Mazaher, Habib's father, blames him; Because he considers the Bani Hashem family to have a high status and his tribe is lower than them in terms of social status.

Mazahir sends Habib to school to learn science, but he constantly talks about his attachment to Imam Hussain (a.s.). To the extent that the schoolmaster considers his behavior as disturbing the order of the school, punishes him and finally expels him from the school.

Habib returns home, but his love for Imam Hussain (AS) remains. The father, seeing his son's steadfastness in this devotion, goes to the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and shares the story with him. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) was pleased with this love and promised to come with the Ahl al-Bayt (PBUH) to Mazaher's house.

Mazaher, happy with this good news, returns home and prepares the house to welcome the family of the Prophet (PBUH) together with his wife and child. In the meantime, Habib goes to the roof of the house out of excitement to meet Imam Hussain (AS), but he falls and dies.

Habib's parents are deeply saddened by this incident, but at the same time as the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and the five members of Al-Abba (PBUH) arrived, they placed his lifeless body in a corner of the house and went to welcome him. The Prophet (PBUH) finds out about Habib and after learning about the incident, they start praying together with the Ahl al-Bayt (PBUH) and ask for mercy from God Almighty.

By God's permission and with the blessing of Imam Hussain (AS), the life will return to Habib's body. Habib humbly throws himself at the feet of Imam Hussain (AS) and they embrace each other. Habib bin Mazaher also made a pact with all his heart that if he had a hundred lives, he would sacrifice them all for the sake of Imam Hussain (a.s.).
