The Third Session: The Martyrdom of Imam Sajjad (AS)

language: Farsi | Iran |

A story of patience, oppression and protection of the Ashura movement in the last moments of Imam Zain al-Abidin's (a.s.) life

This assembly is a story of the last day of Imam Sajjad's (a.s.) life.

Imam Zain al-Abidin (a.s.) goes from home to the mosque to pray. The mosque servant shows the Imam a suffering deer and explains that the reason for its suffering is the separation from its lamb at the hands of a hunter. The Imam speaks of the sorrow of separation and weeps in mourning for Imam Hussain (a.s.) and the martyrdom of his companions. Then he orders the hunter to return the deer's lamb to its mother.

On the other hand, Hisham bin Abdul Malik, who is afraid of the Bani Hashim family and is afraid of Imam Zain al-Abidin's (a.s.) revenge, decides to have the Imam martyred. He sends his minister to the Imam's house and invites him to attend a court banquet.

The Imam inevitably accepts this invitation and drinks the poisoned drink at the banquet, as ordered by Hisham. The Imam's condition changes and they return home. He bids farewell to his son, Imam Baqir (a.s.), and tells the story of his poisoning. In his final moments, he also advises Imam Baqir (a.s.) to protect the uprising of Imam Hussain (a.s.) and the memory and path of the martyrs of Karbala.

At the end of this assembly, Imam Hussain (a.s.), Imam Ali Akbar (a.s.), and Imam Abu al-Fadl al-Abbas (a.s.) come to welcome Imam Sajjad (a.s.) and escort him to his eternal place.
