This assembly is the story of the martyrdom of Imam Shah Chiragh (AS) in Shiraz.
Imam Shah Chiragh (AS) is living in Medina with his two brothers, Ibrahim and Alauddin Hussein, and Imam Masoumeh (AS) and they are saddened by the separation of their great brother, Imam Reza (AS), who is residing in Tus. They set off for Khorasan, eager to meet the Imam.
The caravan reaches Shiraz on this difficult journey. Qutulgh Khan, the governor of the city, becomes suspicious of them and after learning of the destination of the journey, opposes the caravan's continued movement, saying that Ma'mun, the Abbasid Caliph, has forbidden travel to Khorasan.
Following this opposition, a battle breaks out between the caravan of Imam Reza's (AS) brothers and Qutulgh Khan's army. Due to the unity and bravery of the brothers, the infidel army is initially defeated.
In the midst of the battle, a mournful and elegy-singing messenger arrives from Khorasan, bound for Medina to deliver the news of Imam Reza's (a.s.) martyrdom to his family. The brothers are plunged into mourning upon hearing this news, and Qutulgh Khan's soldiers seize this opportunity and begin the attack once again.
The soldiers separate Ibrahim and Alaeddin Hussein from Imam Shah Cheragh (a.s.), surround them, and martyr them. Finally, Imam Shah Cheragh (a.s.) is also surrounded by the enemy. On the orders of the ruler of Shiraz, they stone him, then martyr him with spears and swords, and set his holy body on fire.
