The Fifth Majles: Khosrow and Jamshid

A story of dignity, guidance and forgiveness; from grudge to faith in the guardianship of the Commander of the Faithful (AS)
This assembly is the story of Khusraw and Jamshid's conversion to Islam.

Imam Ali (AS) sets out for the mosque to pray. On the way, a poor man asks him for help. Imam Ali (AS) goes to the house of Jamshid, a wealthy Christian, to meet his needs. Jamshid, who harbors grudges against the Ahl al-Bayt (AS), asks for Imam Hassan (AS) and Imam Hussein (AS) in exchange for the gold bag, not Zulfiqar, nor Imam Ali's slave, nor his horse. Imam Ali (AS) accepts this condition to meet the poor man's needs.
In Imam Ali's absence, Jamshid treats Imam Hassan (AS) and Imam Hussein (AS) harshly, whips them and imprisons them; but by divine command, food, fruit and robes are sent from heaven for the two noble ones. Jamshid learns of this incident, but still does not believe in the truthfulness of the Ahl al-Bayt (a.s.).
At the same time, Gabriel descends upon Imam Ali (a.s.) and conveys the divine command to go to the Christian city of Jabalsa and invite the people of that land to Islam. The Imam sets out for Jabalsa. On the day when the old man Tersa goes to the pulpit to preach the religion of Imam Jesus (a.s.), he stops speaking; because according to the good news of Imam Jesus (a.s.), the Manifestation of Truth will be present among the people on that day.
Khosrow, the ruler of Jabalsa, orders that Imam Ali (a.s.) be brought to him handcuffed, but the Imam overpowers the guards. Khosrow promises that if the Imam answers his questions, he will convert to Islam. Imam Ali (a.s.) answers all his questions, and Khosrow and the people of Jabalsa become Muslims. Khosrow also presents the Imam with a golden purse.
Imam Ali (AS) returns to Medina and gives the same gold bag to Jamshid to bring back Imam Hassan (AS) and Imam Hussein (AS). Jamshid realizes that this is the same gold bag that he had sent as tribute to Khosrow many years ago. Upon seeing this honor, he believes in the truth of Islam and becomes a Muslim. In the end, Imam Hassan (AS) and Imam Hussein (AS) forgive his mistake and show a manifestation of divine mercy and forgiveness.
