The Eleventh Majles: Imitation of Farang's Qaania

language: Farsi | Iran |

A story of guidance, repentance and devotion; the impact of the message of Ashura in a land far from Karbala
This assembly is the story of how a Christian ruler named "Qania" converted to Islam.

In a Christian city, a Shiite family holds a condolence and prayer meeting for Imam Hussein (AS) upon the arrival of the month of Muharram and invites the Shiites of the city to their home. They mourn and recite dirges in mourning for the Master of Martyrs (AS) and his loyal companions.

Upon hearing the sound of mourning, Qania, the ruler of the city, asks his virtuous minister the reason for this commotion. The minister tells him the story of the uprising of Imam Hussein (AS) and his martyrdom. Qania orders the mourners to be bound in chains and brought to him.

Shiites speak of Islam as the last divine religion after the religion of Jesus (PBUH) and introduce Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as the final prophet. They also narrate the events of Imam Hussein (PBUH), the grandson of the Messenger of God (PBUH), and the Ashura incident to Qaniya. However, due to his fanaticism, he does not accept their words, considers mourning harmful to the official religion of the city and orders them to throw everyone in prison.

The Shiites in prison do not stop mourning and seek help from Imam Hussein (PBUH). By the command of the Master of Martyrs (PBUH), Gabriel calls upon the angels and Qaniya is caught in chains by the hand of the angel of punishment.

Qaniya, helpless and crying, asks Imam Hussein (PBUH) for help. The Master of the Martyrs (AS) tells him that if he allows mourning ceremonies for Imam Hussein (AS) to be held in his land and treats the Shiites with kindness, he will be freed from this torment.

Qaania, who has seen all these events in a dream, wakes up, regrets what he has done, recites the Shahadah and converts to Islam. Then he goes to prison, appeases the Shiites, issues a decree for their release, and asks them to hold a mourning ceremony for Imam Hussein (AS) in his house.
