Shabih-Khani

The play "Shabih-Khani" is in fact an evolved form of the passion-play in which mourning is less visible and is performed in different ways in various regions of Iran. The tragedians in a passion-play are all busy with other jobs; From desert drivers to artists and vendors and even farmers and ranchers. Away from their work and social status, they imagine themselves in the desert of Karbala while acting as a tragedian in the passion-play.
