It is a story of women who live or have lived in the “New City” and are now gathered in literacy classes. New City, “Qala’e”, “Jamshid” or “Gamrak” are the names of the neighborhood where prostitutes lived, which was burned and destroyed by extremists and the anger of the people at the time of the victory of the Islamic Revolution. This film was commissioned by the Iranian Women’s Organization at the Cinema and Audiovisual Center, and its filming began in 1966, at the same time as Kamran Shirdel’s other film “Tehran is the Capital of Iran.”
